Meet Robert Farber, DPM
Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, Dr. Robert Farber temporarily relocated to San Antonio with his family after Hurricane Katrina. He returned to Louisiana to attend Louisiana State University, graduating with dual degrees in Microbiology and Spanish. While in college, Dr. Farber studied abroad in Spain. Through his travels, he became fluent in Spanish, and, due to his community outreach and immersion in the Hispanic culture, was inducted in Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society.
Described as high energy and always on the run, Dr. Farber became hampered by heel pain due to flat feet. During his undergraduate studies, he was introduced to the podiatric profession. His experience with heel pain led to his passion for the field of Podiatry so he could help others get back on their feet.
Dr. Farber received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine with honors from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. While enrolled, he served as the President of the Student Government. He was also inducted into the national podiatric honor and service societies.
Dr. Farber then completed his residency at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Fairfax, Virginia, where he served as Chief Podiatric Resident. While in residency, he performed more than 1,800 procedures from elective bunion and hammertoe surgery to complex rearfoot and ankle reconstruction. He also published multiple podiatric medical and surgical abstracts, resulting in a national award in forefoot surgery.
With great pleasure, Dr. Farber is returning to his adopted home of San Antonio. Dr. Farber treats foot and ankle ailments, including heel pain, sports injuries, bunion and hammertoe surgery, wound care, Charcot reconstruction, trauma, flatfoot, and ankle reconstructive surgery. He strives to provide each patient with progressive foot and ankle care utilizing the latest technology and evidence-based medicine protocols. In his spare time, he enjoys practicing mixed martial arts, hiking, and exploring the Hill Country.
